Fun Snowflake Craft Ideas and Instructions

Fun Snowflake Craft Ideas and InstructionsKeep the focus on the simple pleasures of the Holiday season with some artful snowflake crafts. What could be more beautiful than simple decorations for a setting that is unassuming, honest, welcoming and warm? And what could be simpler than a snowflake? It's an image that let's us travel to the days of our Christmas youth and all the years in between. Here are a few ideas that I have for you to bring the snowflake into your Holiday decorations by painting them on fabrics and much more! You'll even find some tips on making unique gifts for giving.

Snowflakes are always six sided. So, to make paper snowflakes you need to fold the paper for a finished design with 6 symmetrical extensions. First, fold a piece of paper starting with the top right corner making sure that the top edge of the paper and the right side are lined up. Cut away the paper that is not in the folded area. Bring the two points on the folded side together and mark the center. From the unfolded point, measure 3 and 1/8" along either side and make a mark. Draw two lines from the center mark on the fold to each of the marks on the unfolded side and fold along each line. It seems complicated for just a paper snowflake but once you see how it's done you'll find that it's easy to just fold without measuring.

All one needs to do is melt some paraffin inside a can placed in a pan of hot water. One could then paste the melted paraffin over some construction paper cut out the shape of hearts. This could be glued to a candle and as a finishing touch a ribbon could be tied around the base of candle. A collage of special memoirs could comprise the craft theme for lovers on Valentine's Day. It could be a collection of photographs, simple treasures like gift wrappers, old cards or any other special memory.

Crafts for Valentine's Day also include special wall hangings. The main features of these wall hangings are heart-shaped paper designs and images of cupid with a bow and arrow. These wall hangings could also incorporate some special personalized messages. Another creative craft item for the day is a Valentine's Day address book. Christmas Crafts - Homemade Gifts and Decorations For a Traditional Holiday Season With Less Stress

Christmas Crafts - Homemade Gifts and Decorations For a Traditional Holiday Season With Less StressIt's a great time to start thinking about Christmas crafts because after all Christmas is on the way! Yeah, that's right. Already! Well, if you find that lately you're greeting the holidays with sighs of anxiety instead of the anxious excitement of past years than maybe it's time to make some positive changes. Bring back the simpler times when Christmas was more about sharing special moments with the people in your life and not so much about crowded afternoons in the mall stressing over the perfect gifts for everyone on your list.

Christmas Crafts - Homemade Gifts and Decorations For a Traditional Holiday Season With Less StressThere are so many reasons to return to the simpler times when we exchanged homemade Christmas crafts. Here are just a few of the best reasons:

First and most important, I think we all need to use this time to step back and reconnect with our family and friends on a personal level. We spend our lives emailing and texting from the carpool line. We rush through days and events sometimes not knowing if we are coming and going. Do you ever wonder what you might be missing? I know it's not easy to put aside a block of time but do it anyway. Trade off some of the time you will be standing in a line at the mall for time at home crafting some decorations or gifts or cards. Invite some friends over to share ideas or get the kids involved.

Christmas Card Ideas Will Soon Be Flowing

Christmas Card Ideas Will Soon Be FlowingIf you are considering making your own Christmas cards all you need is a little bit of inspiration to get you started. Just sit down with a piece of paper and a pen and start a mini brainstorming session. The Christmas card ideas will soon come flooding in.

Christmas Card Ideas Will Soon Be FlowingOne of my favourite ways of finding inspiration for my card making projects is to picture myself out for a walk. This walk could take place anywhere you like, for example down by the river or in the local park or even in your own street. For Christmas ideas I like to picture winter scenes so I just add snow and any people you may meet would be well wrapped up in hat, gloves and scarves. All you have to do then is find a way to transfer these images into your card designs. Some people choose to sketch, others choose abstract design.

Use your pen and paper to jot down all these ideas that you get, and make sure that you add as much detail as possible into your brainstorming notes. This will make it easier for you to picture the image again. For example 'down at the river' will not be enough of a note for you to picture the winter scene, you would have to add more descriptions on what you had seen in this image.
